Funding a warmer home

Warm, energy efficient homes should be available for everyone, no matter your situation. However, we recognise that as the cost of living increases, it’s becoming more difficult to set aside the money needed to upgrade your home. Luckily, there are many opportunities to receive full or partial funding assistance to make your home warmer, cleaner and sustainable.

Finding the right funding for you

Depending on your circumstances, different funding schemes may be available to you. This can depend on your location, income or health. Read below to see which funding schemes might best suit you.

Warm Homes: Local Grant

If you’re a homeowner, landlord or tenant living in a deprived area and on a low income or receiving state benefits, you may be able to receive funding for upgrades delivered by Sheffield City Council through the Warm Homes: Local Grant.

Great British Insulation Scheme and Boiler Upgrade Scheme

If you’re not on low income but still looking for assistance with insulating your home or upgrading your boiler, you may be eligible for assistance through the Great British Insulation Scheme and Boiller Upgrade Scheme.

Energy Company Obligation

If you’re a homeowner, landlord or tenant on low income, receiving state benefits or with a health condition that could be affected by the cold, you could receive funding through the Energy Company Obligation (ECO4).

Social Housing Fund

If you live in social housing, most funding is not currently accessible to you. We are using the Social Housing Fund to improve social housing across Sheffield to ensure our tenants live in warm, clean housing.
