If you’re facing challenges with paying your bills due to the rising cost of living, there are a few organisations and points of contact you may wish to get in touch with.

Speak to your energy provider

If you’re struggling to pay your energy bills, particularly on a short-term basis due to an unexpected extra cost affecting your budget, you can speak to your energy provider about your situation. They may be able to provide you with short-term assistance or delay any consequences for not paying back your bills to allow you time to recover the debt.

It’s highly recommended that you speak to your energy provider as soon as you’re aware that you’ll be unable to pay your energy bill. The earlier you contact them, the more likely they’ll be able to find and implement an effective solution.

You can typically find your provider’s contact details on their website or listed at the top of your energy bill.
